List of Failures on Euro2001 :o(
Faults in chronologicalish order Gav: Expansion cap on the tin top, was loose...coolant boiled and dropped out in Tesco's car park near Allan's...sorted Peter Wehrmann - Clutch release bearing - Spent three hours finding a friendly garage with an engine hoist. Nige's release bearings were different, part sourced from Ford Dealer in Le Harve 100km away just before closing time on the Monday, we then met the other Se7ens at the nights hotel, next morning we drove for 1.5 hours back to Fecamp to fix the car...fixed JB7 - Oil pipe to accusump - JB tried twice but the 'gas pipe' fitting was too sharp cutting the pipe. Made a solder ferrule for the pipe to sit on, blocked the pipe and disabled the accusump. Temp fix until pipe bought and fitted at Mangy Corts JB7 - suspect noisy wheel bearing, stripped and checked, nothing found, later found noise was from camera mount on roll bar Kev Strawbridge - Exhaust bracket bodged until parts turned up. Daren B - overheating system bled twice with Mick Smiths exp cap fitted - fixed Phil P - Bent seat runner - fixed Hoops - Blown ECU fuse - fixed Mick Smith - Big ends - not fixed due to uncertainty about state of crank and limtations of terms and conditions of euro recovery Peter W - steering rack pinion bush tightened. Fixed V7 - ECU probs changed dizzy cap throttle pot temp sensor and plugs, no real improvement Rob Day - Overheating, system bled, given 'blow job' and all was well, prob caused by loose bled screw letting air in. Fixed Daren B - Starter solenoid changed, and trigger wire rewired. Better but not fixed Mike J - Alternator bracket tightened and carbs balanced - fixed John Gathard - Starter solenoid connection melted, remade and replaced. fixed Trev - Exhaust manifold gasket changed - fixed Trev - Brake pushrod and brake switch replaced/adjusted due to pushrod being loose!! . Fixed with Caterham part from Kumschick John G - Oil pressure sender giving false reading, cleaned - fixed Rob D - Wiper Arm replaced by Kumschick Daren B - Wet arse - drilled seat holes Phil P - Wet boot - drilled boot holes JB7 - rear earth fault in light cluster - half fixed Matt - Brake adjustment rear - fixed Rob G - Carbs balanced Phil - Clutch pedal/starter inhibitor switch realigned and adjusted - fixed Allan - check pads and disks Pieter Corts - checked alternator wire, fixed V7 - ECU swap and vaccuum hose. V7 worked with Rob D's M3D better than the MEMs, mems stripped to try to get the MAP sensor to unstick..no joy. Trev - new points and checked timing - fixed
John G - Brake light switch stripped, cleaned, readjusted - fixed
Trev - loose nuts various V7 - brake light sw, strip clean and readjust - fixed Mike J - Alternator bracket finally cracked but then jammed in a suitable position and didn't move further!! Hoops - broke rear anti roll bar, removed JB7 - rear light cluster earth, new earth fitted - fixed JB7 - stickly accelerator, coppaslipped - fixed Phil P - Brake light switch intermittent, checked Phil P - loose speedo - fixed Phil P - Tacho failed, checked wires but seems to be an internal fault Matt - A frame bushes, changed in 10mins at the side of the road. JB7 - Gear shift cable, left in third/forth until replacement arrived next day Rob Day - More water out, topped up and checked again for air pockets. Andy Ish - Half door poppers loose!! Rob Day - Brake light switch, cleaned and adjusted JB7 - Reverse box rear bearing collapsed, checked during gearchange cable replacement. New part fitted

Kev S - Starter Solenoid failed - it is a K after all!
Allan - Sump scrape, thorough check, no leaks Trev - Front wings loose - tightened, And sump scrape Allan - Rack pinion adjusted Allan - ripped rear wing off on croix circuit, 4 rivnuts needed, replaced and tank taped V7 - hit tyres, damage to front cycle wing. V7 - new M3D fitted by Mick S, basic setup done Vinnie - gravel rash
